FOUNDATION ......

Applying Foundation actually has three steps, Concealer, Foundation and Powder.

CONCEALER: There are many different concealers out on the market. Many girls use scar & vein cover, department store preparations or even a lighter foundation. We have found that most of these "skin tone concealers" do not produce the desired results, as no matter what color skin tone they are, they usually produce a mask like or unnatural looking tone. After doing some research online, and viewing literally hundreds of sites, I have found what seems to be the choice, and a time proven method of passable Glamor Girls is a The color "RED"... That would be either a Red Lipstick, cheap rouge or cream oil based blush.(Before using these products test on an area of the inner arm for staining. You want a product with an oil or grease base that will not stain the skin!!!)
DONT FEEL SILLY: Rub the red cream into the beard area going against the grain of the hair... work it in well. Use the least amount that you have to, and don't forget above the lip. Once you have full coverage of the shadow, go over the entire red area with a yellow concealer (one that is made to hide blemishes ... can be found in every drugstore and many discount stores). Blend this well.
LIQUID FOUNDATION: In Choosing a Liquid Foundation, you want to choose one that closely matches your own skin tone. It is always best to buy a foundation (at least for the first time) at a counter where someone can help you. Most Beauty Consultants in department stores will not care that you are a man, they work on commission, and want to make a sale, and more and more men are opting to wear make up these days, so I think you will find them most helpful. If you cant stop at a beauty counter, remember that the color you see in the bottle is going to look lighter on the skin. Many Drug stores have testers out, and you can test a color before you buy it. When testing a color use the inside of your forearm, as this area closely resembles the skin on your face and neck. Choose a color that is one to two shades darker than your fore arm skin. While you are there pick up the loose powder and a powder compact that matches the shade you have chosen ( you will need it for the next step).
APPLYING FOUNDATION: Always apply your liquid foundation with a sponge applicator, and use upward strokes (against the grain of your beard). Blend it well into the concealer, and use the sponge to feather it out around the hairline. Make sure to work and feather under the jawline and the neck, keeping upward strokes. Make sure to blend well under the eyes, and don't forget the eyelids. The foundation on the eyelids will help keep your your eyeshadow from slipping into the creases, and it will last much longer as well!!!
APPLYING POWDER: Blot a generous amount of the *matching powder all over your face and neck using a puff (you can use the one that came with the powder, or buy inexpensive cotton throw aways). Do not powder the area directly under the eyes, as the powder will settle in any crevices, and maximize small wrinkles. Brush off excess powder (lightly) with a brush. Your face should now look like a flawless palette, ready for the artists touch!!! The compact you bought is for touch ups. Touch up *lightly by just patting a tiny bit of powder on shiny spots.
