PASSING ...... The Misunderstood Measuring Stick
Somewhere along the line, Passing has been elevated to the point where it seems to be an unreachable goal for some Girls, and the standard which we use to grade ourselves.
If Passing is important in your feminine persona, then you need to start thinking about a few things. The art of Passing in public is not about displaying yourself to the world, but rather about blending into your enviroment.
The next time you are out and about in drab mode, take a good look at the women that you encounter, and actually see them for what they are. You will find that you will not run into too many that are sporting black stockings, mini-skirts, red 5 inch heels, and wigs that extend down to their barely covered butts. They are dressed normally for their surroundings. They blend in.
The big trick to Passing is to avoid attracting attention to yourself, by blending into your surroundings, just as genetic women do. Although the human eye sees everything it looks at, the brain singles out things that draw its attention, and it tends to ignore the ordinary and routine. In today's fast-paced world, most people have so much on their minds, that blending in, and not attracting attention to yourself, is not that hard of a task.
Today's average woman is not the ideal image that we see in ourselves as T-Girls. You will see her out in public without a trace of makeup, wearing baggy sweats and tennis shoes, and many times, displaying a very masculine image. We aren't saying that all woman dress and act in such a manner, but there are enough of them that do so, and the bar has been lowered for femininity, making it easier to slip by the radar. In addition, a woman's average size has increased dramatically over the past 30 years, and a T-Girl has a better chance of blending into a crowd, instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.
Think of passing as assuming the role of an actress playing a part. If she doesn't wear the appropriate wardrobe and makeup, her acting tallents are wasted, as she won't fit into the scene. Her appearance will draw attention away from the rest of the cast, and cause the audience to focus on her, scrutinizing her every movement and line. Even if she were the best actress in the world, the performance would not go over well at all. But an average actress, who was dressed properly for the role, could play the same part and come out smelling like a rose.....Just because she blended in with the rest of the cast, forming one big picture.
Obviously you can't just slip on the right dress and expect to pass in public, but by creating a feminine image that blends into your surroundings, and minimizes factors that attract attention, Passing is not out of reach for most T-Girls.
