SHAVING ......

Getting a close shave is first and foremost in setting up the face for a feminine look. Getting a close shave and hiding the Five O'Clock shadow are the Number One complaint and problem in male to female transformation, and once you lick this, half the battle is won.
I highly suggest that if you know you are going to dress one day, do not shave the day before. It is easier to get a close shave on a day old beard. The longer stubble is much easier to soften and stretch, and it is easier to find *missed spots*. To get the closest possible shave, place a warm damp washcloth or towel on the face, and keep the beard warm and damp for 3-5 minutes. Next Lather Up with a moisturizing shaving foam and let it sit for the recommended amount of time on the product. Shave your face with the grain. Repeat the lathering process and now shave against the grain of the hair. If you have an extreme course beard you can try softening the hair, and shaving with a good commercial Hair Conditioner, Yes one that you use on your hair. These products are designed to soften and coat the hair, and I think you will be amazed at how your razor glides over your face when you have conditioned the beard. A good shave is not solely dependent on the shaving process, but also on the condition of the skin. Soft smooth skin is naturally going to get a closer smoother shave. You must work on a daily and weekly routine to reach the objective of a smoother canvas, and it is alot easier, and less time consuming, than you may have thought, once you get into the routine. Cleanse your face morning and night with a moisturizing cleanser, and use a good daily moisturizer. Pay special attention to the areas around the eye, by assessing any problems with the eye area, like wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. There are many products on the market that deal with these specific problems, and I will address these in an upcoming section dealing with Specific Treatments and makeup effects. However I suggest taking a little time to do some homework with regard to your specific needs. In addition to proper cleansing, you will need to rid your face of dry dead skin, and a good exfoliating once a week is recommended. This will work wonders in keeping your face smooth, as it not only rids you of dead skin, but opens the pores for deeper cleaning, and allows the hair to grow without those below the surface bumps that make a close shave virtually impossible. As with eye creams, there are many exfoliating cleansers on the market, and you need to read the labels. Many are designed according to skin type. You would not want to use any product with an alcohol base on very dry skin (for Instance), so learn about your skin and buy the product that best suits your skin. Another great product to help smooth out the skin is a pore minimizer. The cleaner and smaller the pores on the face, the smoother it will be. This little change in your routine will not only give you a smoother complexion to add make up to, but you will look and feel great in your everyday drab attire as well !!!
